Kelsey is trained in using the Monteiro Interview Guidelines for Diagnosing the Autism Spectrum, Second Edition: A Sensory-Based Approach (MIGDAS-2). This is a suite of assessment products providing a method of systematically gathering and organising the information needed to diagnose autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in adults.
To book an assessment, contact Kelsey via email, phone or website. You do not need a referral from your GP or psychiatrist. Kelsey has a waitlist for assessments and will discuss this with you.
The assessment session will be 3 hours, and conducted at Kelsey's clinic rooms in Griffith. The questions of the MIGDAS-2 are broad and open-ended, encouraging thoughtful responses. Kelsey will also undertake a few brief quantitative measures at the end. You will likely find the session quite draining.
It is important that you feel as comfortable as possible given the length of the assessment. You are welcome to bring fidgets, weighted blankets or other sensory items to use. You will be encouraged to make yourself comfortable in the space. It may be helpful to bring a water bottle or a snack. You can ask for a break if you need it at any point.
The MIGDAS-2 provides questions for family members or partners so that they may contribute their insight. This is optional. If you would like to draw upon these supports, with your consent Kelsey will contact a nominated person by phone and complete those questions with them. This information will be included in the report and has no additional cost.
Within 2-6 weeks following the assessment, your report will be complete. Kelsey will reach out to let you know and to book a session to go over this together and provide your copy.
Cost:
Assessment session and feedback session: $200 each.
The report: $1800.
